Four Months In: What We've Learned
Shaped by the community.
Four months ago, TimelyPlanned launched with a simple mission: make funeral and cemetery pre-planning easier for families and more accessible through trusted community partners. Since then, we've had the opportunity to meet with families, funeral home owners, clergy, caregivers, and community organizations throughout Southern California. Along the way, three important lessons have stood out.
Families Want Education First
Most people aren't ready to make planning decisions immediately. They want trustworthy information, straightforward answers, and resources they can review at their own pace. We've learned that education builds confidence. The more families understand their options, the more comfortable they become making decisions that are right for them and the people they love.
The Demand for Pre-Planning Is Real
One thing has become very clear: families are asking for pre-planning information. Many funeral homes receive these requests regularly, but their primary responsibility is serving families who have recently experienced a loss. As a licensed funeral director myself, I understand how difficult it can be to balance immediate needs with pre-planning inquiries. The challenge isn't a lack of interest. The challenge is having the time and resources to consistently follow up with every family seeking information.
Understanding Needs for Better Solutions
Many of the improvements we've made over the last four months came directly from conversations with our partners and clients. Our newly redesigned website is one example. Based on feedback, we've made information easier to find, expanded educational resources, and created a more user-friendly experience. Listening has helped us better understand the needs of both families and funeral professionals, allowing us to continue improving the services and resources we provide.
Looking Ahead
The first four months have confirmed something we strongly believed from the beginning: families are looking for a simpler, more transparent approach to planning ahead. We're grateful for the support, feedback, and trust we've received so far, and we're excited about what's ahead.
Thank you for being part of our journey!
